This is related to anothe one of my posts, but I though it deserved a post all of its own.
Mark Cuban is a billionaire entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team. He is also an anti-American traitor. Not too long ago I said that I would not label individuals anti-American to traitors for disagreeing on the war or for calling for our troops to come home. This case is different though.
Mr. Cuban financed the new movie, Redacted, which portrays U.S. troops in Iraq as rapists and indiscriminate murderers. I have not seen the movie yet, but based on news reports the movie is a documentary like film based on a 2006 incident where soldiers raped and killed a 14 year old Iraqi girl. The truth is that this heinous incident did occur and it should not have. The truth is that those involved were prosecuted for the crimes they committed. The problem I have with the film is that it is intended to portray all soldiers (and the US) in a negative light. Rather than making a film that is more indicative of the behavior of the soldiers in Iraq, which includes the building of schools, the fabrication of infrastructure, the protection of Iraqi citizens, he chooses to make this film.
This movie will be used as a recruitment video by the Islamic extremists that wake up every day thinking of how to hurt the US. This movie will serve to incite terrorists in Iraq to attack US forces. This movie is bad for our soldiers and bad for the US. This is worse than any Tokyo Rose.
What does he hope to accomplish with this movie? I can’t think of anything good that can come from this? Can you think of anything? I would like to keep an open mind, but I can’t honestly think of a good reason for making the movie. If you dislike Bush and his policies, that is one thing, but taking it out on the troops is completely different. For aiding the enemy, I think he is a traitor and by default anti-American.
