"Truth" vs. the Left
I love listening to conservative talk radio and my favorite host is Dennis Prager. Not only is he very smart, but he always searches for the truth, without agenda or emotional interferences. He is the one talk show host that really makes me deeply examine whatever topic he is discussing.
His column today is called “Does the Left Value Truth?”. If you get a chance, read it, it is very good: Townhall.com - Does the Left Value Truth? By Dennis Prager. I read it and I agree with him. I believe that for the most part, liberals will put their agenda in front of the truth. This story reminded me of a conversation I overheard at an airport during the 2004 Presidential elections. A woman was upset at John Kerry for something that he said. She could not believe that he would say such a thing (for the life of me, I cannot remember what the topic was). The man that she was with told her not to worry because he was sure that John Kerry did not mean what he said, he just said it in order to win. In other words, the man at the airport understood, and was okay with, the idea that John Kerry would lie in order to get elected because that was what was important – getting him elected. I was in complete shock – as was my husband. I wanted to say something, but decided that it was not worth the fight. This incident left a lasting impression on me. I agree with the examples that Mr. Prager refers to; however, I now have my personal example and therefore I think that “truth” is less important than "agenda" for the left. |
