MSNBC Bias

I'm not typically a conspiracy theory kind of guy, but I think that there definitely is a bias at MSNBC. When you read the following article, which way do you think they lean?

'Don't tase me, bro!’ is year's top quote - Year in Review - MSNBC.com

I'll throw it on a poll to see what people think.

I know it's just a silly list, but the point is that as a media entity, they should be more neutral. I bet the authors don't even realize that they are bias. This is important, because as we move closer to the next election the media bias can sway people’s votes.

Re: MSNBC Bias

I've honestly never heard of the kid getting tazed or what he said before or during that event. I do; however, remember each of the other quotes well, and the discussions that ensued.

I guess it won because only 15 million people watch any given news channel on average, but YouTube gets 100 million hits if something really juicy, violent, or stupid-funny is posted. That’s the power of pop culture and the internet over news and information. It really gets interesting on YouTube when the news reports that something 'fun' has been posted online.

I have always felt that MSNBC was a little left-leaning, but I'll admit that I don't watch it very much. It seems they're always airing a special on the Federal Prison system instead of what's going on in current events. So I just don't bother. I check their website news; along with 4 or 5 other news sites, to get my daily dose...but that's just me getting multiple sources.

I've recently been thinking that it isn't really too big a deal (for me) that news agencies 'pick a side' and go with it. Going all the way back to the Revolutionary War the news has been skewed based on whoever owned the news agency and their political views. It's also based on what sells nowadays. News is corporations; corporations need money, and money comes from advertisement; simple as that. Right now it's very popular; ergo a good investment, to be anti-Conservative/War/President Bush.
