It seems that a guy in Texas (names David Hanson) has created a "robotic" boy. Currently, it cannot talk or walk, but it can make facial expressions. His name is Zeno, just like his 18-month old son. He envoisions robot-Zeno becoming an "interactive learning companion, a synthetic pal who can engage in conversation and convey human emotion through a face made of a skin-like, patented material Hanson calls frubber.
I don't know about you -but Zeno kind of freaks me out. I can imagine him "waking up" in the middle of the night and becoming the star of some B-rated horror movie. Take a look and let me know what you think? ![]() Zeno the Robot Companion For the full story, check out: Robot Maker Builds Artificial Boy |

Re: Does anyone else find this creepy?
Wow! That is CReepY! It reminds me sort of the movie "A.I.". (Artificial Intelligence).
It's a sad & disturbing fact, but i believe that pretty soon, people are just going to rely on robots, & machines to do what humans used to do. I think that we rely WAY too much on computers nowadays"] I always wondered what would happen if some important place like a hospital, had its computers fail. What would happen to all of the important records??? I think that important information like that should be kept on hand in files also, or something ![]() |
