Re: Who won the CNN/YouTube.com Debate Winner?
I still think Ron Paul gives the most consistent answers. He never waffles. He answers directly.
Do you know who lost the debate? CNN. Out of thousands of questions sent in for Ron Paul, they chose the ones for him from people who are trying to make him look like a flake. They also put him next to McCain so that when they asked the question about leaving Iraq, the target would be close by. It was such an obvious set-up. But even with CNN's attempt to discredit Paul, they failed. Paul answered the questions well and the smile he gave John McCain said it all. McCain is living is some dream world. If the troops agree so much with what McCain says, why isn't HE getting their campaign donations? CNN, along with the rest of the mainstream media continues to PROVE their bias. It's sad really. What are they going to do when Paul gets two or three times as many votes during the primaries as their almighty polls give him? |

Re: Who won the CNN/YouTube.com Debate Winner?
The only candidate whom answered hard questions directly was Ron Paul, therefore I consider him the winner of the debate. I would like to have heard Dr. Paul's response to several questions asked of other candidates. Among those was whether or not he considers "waterboarding" torture. The response by Mitt Romney was not worthy of an American President. McCain was the clear winner in that exchange. That question should have been asked of each candidate. The Romney reply reaffirms that his presidency would be four more years of Bush policies.
Another clear difference was the belief among the candidates - other than Dr Paul - whom apparently don't understand that the Constitution does NOT "give" any "rights" to Americans. It serves to restrict government authority, allowing the people to enjoy God given liberties. The Constitution provides for small, limited government. Bless Dr. Paul for understanding this critical difference. Ron Paul continues to be identified as an "isolationist". He defended his position as a "non-interventionist" well when labeled as such by Senator McCain. I was expecting to hear the CNN commentator expound on this point when bringing out statements made during the debate that were not completely truthful. Instead we heard CNN claim that Dr Paul overstated his support at a recent rally, claiming 5000 attended when the actual number was closer to 2000. CNN itself reported Ron Paul had 5000 supporters there in a posted story. |

Ron Paul won for alot of reasons in my book, but the one thing that stands out the most is the fact that he ANSWERED questions. Whereas the rest of them just seemed to dance around the REAL issue and didn't really ANSWER most of the questions...the WORST of the dancers were MITT ROMNEY AND RUDY GIULIANI. For someone that is wanting to be president...they sure take extreme lengths to avoid giving an answer (by starting a mud slinging contest) and are vague when they do answer. THEY think we don't notice ha! The book title "A Nation of Sheep"...may be referring to those people in the front row helping "The Bush cause"...and beating the WAR DRUM in a blind faith following...that is BANKRUPTING AMERICA AND MAKING US THE MOST HATED COUNTRY ON EARTH!
In a sense...a blind following...just like sheep following their herder...I AGREE! TERRORISM HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE DAWN OF MAN...THE MIDDLE EAST HAS BEEN IN A CIVIL WAR SINCE BIBLICAL TIMES...LET THEM FIGHT IT OUT! WHY MUST WE SUPPORT EITHER SIDE? WE JUST CAN'T AFFORD IT! AND EVEN ONE MORE DEAD SOLDIER IS UNACCEPTABLE...THIS IS A WAR BASED ON LIES AND CONTINUED BY LIES! True "TERRORISM" comes from our own GOVERNMENT! THAT NEEDS TO END...AND I THINK RON PAUL DID A EXCELLENT JOB OF STATING THE "REAL FACTS" ABOUT OUR VERY "REAL STATE OF AFFAIRS"...AND IT DOESN'T LOOK PRETTY, BUT AT LEAST IT IS HONEST AND THAT IS WHAT I LIKE. The other candidates have this ass their motto,
IF you can't dazzle them with Brilliance, BAFFLE Them with Bull S"hit.... With the limited time that Ron has, HE ALWAYS stands for the rights and freedoms even though some issues (abortion) he may in principle disagree with. ITS CALLED INTEGRITY AND INTELLIGENCE!!!! RON Paul FOR your Grandchildrens SAKE!!!!! |

Re: Who won the CNN/YouTube.com Debate Winner?
Ron Paul won. It's so obvious that they do not want him to be heard. He is always given so few questions, but that's alright. He is the only candidate that actually gives straight answers and doesn't dance around the questions. Another thing, look at how ole' rudy, mitt, and fugly fred behave. They can not even abide to the rules about the time limit on their answers. Do you think that they would abide by our Constitution if any one of them were president? Of course not. Ron Paul is the way!

I really liked Paul's answer to the CFR and the NAU. It is to bad he is not given equal time as other candidates.
It would also be really nice if we had better questions for the candidates. I know that was the point pf letting the people make the questions, but who picked the questions? 1. Will your foreign policy differ from that of the Council on foreign relations or the {CFR}? 2. How will you address our war driven, debtors economy and the private bankers that heavily influence our politics? {The Federal Reserve} 3. How will you respond if one of your staff commits treason or any other crime? 4. How will you address the tyrannic power that has taken hold of the executive branch? 5. Will you restore the integrity of the constitution to the best of your ability and make future decisions based on that of what our country once stood for? |

Re: Who won the CNN/YouTube.com Debate Winner?
Just look at the way Mitt Romney dodged questions, the only one he gave a straight answer on was about baseball. John McCain and Fred showed they are still ignorant and Bush Supporters for the long haul. Mike Huckabee did okay, but Ron Paul spoke strongly on every question he actually had a chance to answer, and drew applause 100% of the time.

I think Ron Paul won the debate because he is the ONLY candidate that speaks the truth, we are not idiots we can see through there manipulation and bs, it does not take a genious to realize it, it just takes wanting to open your eyes. Ron Paul truely has given hope back to the people, hope that was almost totally destroyed by previous administrations. He is honest, smart, knowledgeable about the issues, he has integrity, he defends the values of the constitution and freedom.
It just feels amazingly good to have someone in politics speak the truth. thanks RON PAUL 2008 How is it possible that CNN commentators can dare to ridiculize him for speaking the truth about North American Union, are they that ignorant or that in it. |

Even though Ron Paul wasn't given nearly enough time he still won the debate because he's still the only one up there who is NOT lying through his teeth.
Each time the media does this to him - and we all know what they do - it only convinces people more that the mainstream media is full of liars and manipulators. People are waking up to the truth because the corporate media and government are so desperate to censor a truly honest man. Shame on them, more power to Paul. RP'08 |
