Which Republican would you vote for?

If the 2008 election was held this November, which Republican candidate would you vote for and why?

Honestly - I am not too sure and as a Conservative - that makes me really nervous. Unfortunately, I have not been too impressed with our current candidates.

I'll second that! I am so confused and unhappy with all choices, that I would almost be willing to abstain from voting this time around in order to let fate take it's course *cough*Hillary '08*cough*. But, as a responsible citizen I will not abstain.

Being in Iraq currently gives me at least a small idea of how things are going over here, and it is interesting to be on the 'other side' of things. Back home I read about Iraq and discussed politics. Here I read about politics and live 'Iraq'. I believe in success here, and what our current mission is. WMD can kiss off, our current mission is so far gone from that, and I'm happy that it is. We are fighting insurgents, mentoring a democracy, and killing al-Qaeda (even though they are only here because we are...blah, blah, blah*CNN*) I can tell you that things are much different that what you read/see in/on the news..."the truth is out there" it just can't be found in the media.

All that leads me to want a strong conservative president for our next executive; however, I don't really want a 'very' strong conservative to increase troop levels and keep us here for 5 - 10 more years over the 100,000 mark.

We can have our cake and eat it too as it were. Drawdown in Iraq, mission success, fighting the GWOT, increase our international image (positively), and fix many of the domestic issues that have been on the back-burner for that last 6 years. The problem is that I don't think any of the candidates from either side of the isle is a baker.

Re: Which Republican would you vote for?

I will vote for Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. The man exemplifies conservative, constitutional, small gov't, free trade principles, and WOULD push through low taxes. A man with a proven 20 year voting record against every tax increase, against any unconstitutional expansion of Federal power. A man who has voted with integrity his whole life. I have never seen a man or woman politician like this.

Curious about his positions and stands?

Ron Paul is my choice. He's the classic conservative - non-interventionalist, free trade, small gov't - all the hallmarks of liberty and freedom and likened to Thomas Jefferson. He is someone not only the US, but the whole world needs.
His voting record is utterly consistent his entire career. I've never campaigned for anyone, but I am for this man. Please discover him and spread the word!

Re: Which Republican would you vote for?

Well the last post I wrote was quite lengthy and then it didn't go thru, so this time, I spare you all the reading. There's only one man I have faith in other than Jesus Christ.

RON PAUL

He's a true conservative, non-interventionalist, free trade, small gov't, for liberty, freedom and justice for all. His voting record is totally consistent his entire career. The man exemplifies conservative, constitutional, free trade principles, and low or no taxes. He has a proven 20 year voting record against every tax increase, against any unconstitutional expansion of Federal power. A man with integrity.

At age 72, he could retire and be enjoying his grandchildren, but he is seriously concerned about the direction our country is headed in and wants to put it back on track. His wife of 50 years is right behind him, willing to take on the responsibilities of First Lady.

I've never campaigned for anyone, but I am for this man. I double dare you to check him out and you will see the light of truth revealed.

I have no problem switching my political affilliation for the right man. I'm not stuck in the "right/left" paradiam of a two party system that has been shoved down our throats. It disturbs me that people will say, "Well, I guess I'll vote for the lesser of two evils." WRONG... Evil is evil.

Ron Paul is a man of honest upstanding morals, values and integrity.

RON PAUL
Hope For America
Be a part of it

Re: Which Republican would you vote for?

Ron Paul undoubtedly is the best choice of candidates overall. It is unfortunate, in a country like ours which was founded on principles of freedom and liberty, that choices in an important election like the Presidential one in 2008 are minimal. This was foreseen and warned about by several people who came before us, presidents, statesmen, writers and others, and we still can't seem to get it right. Hopefully we will this time, before the infrastructure of the USA falls apart from being far too top-heavy with corporate fascists and their funders.

Re: Which Republican would you vote for?

If the election were held today, tomorrow or any other day, I would vote for Ron Paul and there is no other choice. Everyone else is either bought and paid for or to far away from the constitutional ideal.
