Re: Who Should You Vote For?

i got it. check out ★☞ SelectSmart.com SELECTORS Quizzes Tests Decision Makers Select Selector Quiz Test it has a Presidential Candidate Selector that is in my opinion better than the one i was using before. Everyone talks trash on Ron Paul but he is the man. I don't care if he is Republican. If I don't vote him, I'm voting John McCain & that's who the Brownback dude is backing. If I don't vote McCain then I'll vote Obama or Romney. Ron Paul RULES! If Mike Gravel were more popular i'd vote for him.

NOTE: Does this mean I will nto vote? NO! I will go to the polls and cast my vote like every good American should. Think about it folks... Iraqis, under the threat of death by terrorism, have an 90%+ turn out rate at the polls for their elections. THEY know the value of a democratic system. We could learn a thing or two.
Although the electoral and popular voting process is very complex and they don't always work the way they are supposed to...YES every vote DOES count.

You're from California. California has 55 electoral votes. If the popular vote (you...the public voter) is majority; say, Republican (ie 66% of Californian voters vote Republican in 2008), then those 55 electoral votes theoretically go to the Republican candidate. Although it doesn’t always work that way each and every time, mostly it does.

So your individual vote, adds up to the Total Popular Vote of your individual state. If enough states' total popular votes add up to one candidate getting the majority of the electoral votes that will be your future president.

So bottom line is that each vote counts. It just doesn't work the way some think it does. We are a Republic, not a true Democracy and that's just the way it is. You vote for your state, your state selects electoral voters, who then chose the president. It's an indirect way of doing it, but that's the way it is. Get out; learn the facts on the issues, learn about who you want to be president and vote.

For example; I'm from Wisconsin originally. Wisconsin is one of a handful of states that doesn't consistently vote the party line one way or the other. Historically Wisconsin votes for whomever the voters (public) of WI think will actually do the best job running the country based on the issues at the time. As a side note I'll admit that WI has voted Democratic (for the POTUS) since 1988, but the margin of the win is usually very narrow. Kerry won WI in 2004 by only a few thousand votes.

This will result in the Republicans staying in power. I might actually have to vote Republican just so I won't waste my vote. I can't vote for this Brownback dude because I know he's not going to win. I'd just be throwing my vote away.

p.s. What if Hillary is elected & its that time of the month. She could destroy us all!!!
HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAH, well said.
