Bill Clinton opposed the war in Iraq from the begining

Former President Bill Clinton said at a rally this week that he opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning.

You have to wonder why he said that, in particular since he made opposing statements leading up to the war and after the war started.

I think it is a deliberate technique to pander to both sides of the issue. People will hear whatever they want to hear, and the same people will believe whatever they want to believe. When he says that he supported the war, those that want him (and Hillary) to support the war take that and run with it. The same is true for those that oppose it.

For Hillary's presidential campaign it is even better when he makes those statements. People that support the position will say that Hillary must have the same viewpoint because Bill said it. Those that oppose it will say that it doesn't matter what he says because he is not Hillary. This is a great tactic and a win-win for Hillary.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The Clinton's have been against the war for a long time. You just can't accept that it is a big failure that has done nothing good for this country.

You may want to do about 15 seconds of research before you post a rude response like that. Both the Clintons supported the war and repetedly stated how much of a threat Saddam's regime was to regional and world security. Former POTUS Clinton said that through his entire administration as President. It was only recently (ie. when the war looked to be going badly) that the Clintons started to scale back their support for the war. Bill still states that Saddam was a threat that needed to be removed, and Hillary currently believes that we must be cautious in how we handle Iraq to ensure stability in the future.

Do your research...don't just be one of the sheep who uses CNN as your bible on information.

I can also tell you that from being here the war is not a big failure...I'd challenge you to say that to any of the millions here who love the way things are going now, love the security that we've now been able to give them, and are resoundingly happy with the idea that the pursuit of happiness isn't just a dream for them anymore...they can actually accomplish it.

I looked into the eyes of many small children (Iraqi) last week and the smiles on their faces and in their hearts at us helping them was something I'll never forget. Maybe you (no doubt sitting comfy in your nice warm living room this winter)...shouldn't be so quick to judge a situation that you have no idea what you are talking about.
